Art Shopping (Sony HT-CT150D Sound Bar System)

Sony HT-CT150 3D Sound Bar System

Add room-filling sound to your TV viewing experience. This 3D sound bar delivers immersive audio without running wires across the room or setting up extra speakers, so you can complete your 3D home entertainment experience with simple, yet powerful surround sound. The HT-CT150 32" 3D sound bar home theater system features 3D compatibility and can also be turned into your entertainment hub by connecting multiple HD or 3D devices using a single HDMI cable per device (sold separately). In addition to the latest audio decoding technology, this beautifully sleek sound bar can be easily mounted directly to select BRAVIA® TVs, hung on your wall, or placed separately on a shelf.

S-Force Surround for Immersive Audio

By using a powerful 100% digital Sony S-Master amplifier and DSP (Digital Signal Processing) technology, realistic surround sound can be generated from just two front speakers. Unlike other "virtual surround" technologies, rear sound is generated from the front two speakers using sophisticated digital sound processing and does not need to be bounced off of side walls. No matter what the size or shape of the room or what's on the wall, it's possible to hear sounds from behind you without needing to place speakers behind you.

HDMI Repeater with Pass-Through and Audio Return Channel
Connect multiple devices via HDMI to your surround sound system, easily switch between them, and then connect everything to your HDTV with just one HDMI cable. Standby pass-through of audio and video conveniently access all your HDMI connected devices without having to power on the receiver.
Audio Return Channel eliminates the need for extra cables connected to your TV. This feature allows audio to be sent from your compatible TV to your receiver through the same HDMI cable already being used to send audio and video to your TV.

BRAVIA Sync Compatible
Conveniently operate and control other BRAVIA Sync compatible devices--including BRAVIA HDTVs, Blu-ray Disc Players, surround sound systems, Handycam camcorders and Cyber-shot digital still cameras, all with one remote control.

art photography

Art photography is more than just snapping a photo, blowing it up and putting in on your wall as art. Although you can create some fantastic photos that you can display as art, learning a few tricks to enhance the pictures can make all the difference.

Take a simple picture of a tomato, for example. You can find many designer rooms complete with pictures of food items that look great. But if you look closely, you can notice that it is not just a simple picture of a red tomato that is hanging on the wall integrated into the decorating scheme. There is a certain element of artistic merit in the photograph.

The photo in the stylized room that you love looking at is not just a photograph of a simple tomato that someone shot at random. A lot of thought and artistic value went into that picture. Do you see the droplets of moisture on the bright red skin of the tomato? Those droplets make the tomato seem juicy. You can almost taste the cool, flavorful tomato just by looking at the picture.

music therapy program

Music Therapy and Health: Music affects many areas of the body, making music therapy a helpful tool for health. Photo from iStockphoto.com)
Music is used for more than entertainment. It is also used as a therapeutic process called music therapy. Research has been done that proves music has the ability to change one's mood. It can put you in a better mood, can make you feel relaxed when things are stressful, or it can also make you feel romantic and loving. Music therapy does more than affect or change the way you feel. It is a scientific process to heal and improve someone's overall wellbeing. It has the power to heal and improve both psychological and physical pain. Because it is more than entertainment, the value of music should never be underestimated.

Music therapy is thought to originate in veterans' hospitals, helping those who came back ravaged from the war acclimate better to the often traumatic injuries they suffered. Research has shown that music has a profound effect on your body and psyche. In fact, there’s a growing field of health care known as Music Therapy, which uses music to heal. Those who practice music therapy are finding a benefit in using music to help cancer patients, children with ADD, and others, and even hospitals are beginning to use music and music therapy to help with pain management, to help ward off depression, to promote movement, to calm patients, to ease muscle tension, and for many other benefits that music and music therapy can bring. This is not surprising, as music affects the body and mind in many powerful ways. The following are some of effects of music, which help to explain the effectiveness of music therapy:

  • Brain Waves: Research has shown that music with a strong beat can stimulate brainwaves to resonate in sync with the beat, with faster beats bringing sharper concentration and more alert thinking, and a slower tempo promoting a calm, meditative state. Also, research has found that the change in brainwave activity levels that music can bring can also enable the brain to shift speeds more easily on its own as needed, which means that music can bring lasting benefits to your state of mind, even after you’ve stopped listening.
  • Breathing and Heart Rate: With alterations in brainwaves comes changes in other bodily functions. Those governed by the autonomic nervous system, such as breathing and heart rate can also be altered by the changes music can bring. This can mean slower breathing, slower heart rate, and an activation of the relaxation response, among other things. This is why music and music therapy can help counteract or prevent the damaging effects of chronic stress, greatly promoting not only relaxation, but health.
  • State of Mind: Music can also be used to bring a more positive state of mind, helping to keep depression and anxiety at bay. This can help prevent the stress response from wreaking havoc on the body, and can help keep creativity and optimism levels higher, bringing many other benefits.
  • Other Benefits: Music has also been found to bring many other benefits, such as lowering blood pressure (which can also reduce the risk of stroke and other health problems over time), boost immunity, ease muscle tension, and more. With so many benefits and such profound physical effects, it’s no surprise that so many are seeing music as an important tool to help the body in staying (or becoming) healthy.

Using Music Therapy:
With all these benefits that music can carry, it's no surprise that music therapy is growing in popularity. For more information on music therapy, visit the American Music Therapy Association's website

Art Therapy

"Art" is always being used in the form of pleasure, expression and communication. It always played with human psychology in order to communicate, entertain, express and satisfy. Art is as useful for a common person as for an artist in creativity.

You can say that art therapy happened by chance somewhere in the mid of last century. The first experiment with art as a form of therapy took place by chance early in the Second World War when the artist Adrian Hill was recovering from tuberculosis in a Sussex sanatorium. He turned to his art as a way of passing the time creatively, and began introducing other patients to painting and drawing to take their minds off their illnesses and traumatic wartime experiences.

Art therapy can be individual activity but is often used very successfully in group situation such as in art studios and in workshops that focus on creativity development. Art therapists work with children, adolescents, and adults and provide services to individuals, couples, families, groups, and communities.

To his surprise, Hill found that not only were they enthusiastic, but that they used their pictures to express their fears and anxieties, and the frightening scenes they had witnessed. Unintentionally, he had become Britain's first art therapist.

Although they worked in very different ways - Hill as an enlightened art teacher and Irene as a psychotherapist - they laid some of the foundations for the profession of art therapy in Britain. As a result of their work and that of followers such as Edward Adamson, the first artist to be employed full time in a psychiatric hospital, the British Association of Art Therapists was established in 1963.

This therapy is not only useful for adults and old people in order to increase cognitive abilities, better relationships with family and friends, able to enjoy the life-affirming pleasures of the creative experience but especially for aggressive children for their better development.
